Part of our challenge will be to complete our journey without travelling to any country or region where the Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all travel, so we are likely to take numerous detours depending on FCO advice at the time.
Here are some potential detours we may have to make to get around particular hotspots, the most likely one
being to bypass Syria in the event of FCO advice remaining the same.
